Introduction

Adventurous Dave 3D is a first-person platformer from developer daya5 that rebuilds the levels of Dangerous Dave in three dimensions using the Godot engine. The idea behind the project is modular: instead of modelling every stage by hand, the developer assembles 3D spaces from a 2D layout, and that experiment is really the point of the game. Play is about exploration and collection — you wander each stage, gather diamonds, goblets and other valuables, then head for the next level once you have what you came for. This debut build is intentionally small. It contains two complete playable levels and nothing else in the way of combat or inventory: there are no enemies, no weapons and no usable items yet, so the experience stays focused on moving through the space and picking things up. The look leans on a PlayStation-era aesthetic, in line with the retro and PSX tags on the page. Controls are keyboard and mouse only. WASD moves, the arrow keys or the mouse handle looking around, Space jumps, F1 toggles the stats display and Alt+Enter switches fullscreen. A controller is not supported in this build. Under the hood the game runs on Godot, with models built in Blender and sounds edited in Audacity. The developer lists Windows 7 (32-bit) or newer, an Intel i3-class processor and an Nvidia GT 710-class graphics card as the minimum.
