Privacy policy

New Games Today has no accounts, no checkout and no ads. This page lists everything the site records and the one third party that can set a cookie, and only with your permission in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland.

What this site does not do

• No sign-up, no login, no newsletter, no comments.
• No payment details, no checkout, nothing for sale.
• No advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking for ads.
• No AI or generation feature is offered to visitors. Game write-ups are produced offline from facts the developer published on itch.io.

The “Suggest a game” form

The only personal details we ever receive are the ones you choose to send through the Suggest a Game form: an optional email address and an optional note. Alongside them the server records the itch.io link you sent, a one-way hash of your IP address (salted, so the raw address is not stored), your browser's user agent and the time of the request.

Those details are used to review your suggestion, to answer you if we need to ask something, and to rate-limit and block spam. They are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database (table submissions), are not sold and are not shared with anyone else. Pending suggestions are kept until they are reviewed; rejected and older rows are deleted periodically.

The form can be run through Cloudflare Turnstile, a bot check. When Turnstile is switched on, your browser loads a challenge from challenges.cloudflare.com and Cloudflare sees your IP address for that check. As of 1 November 2026 Turnstile is switched off and no challenge is loaded.

Analytics: Google Analytics 4

The site uses Google Analytics 4, measurement id G-Y23MMDC97X, operated by Google LLC (Google Ireland Limited for visitors in the EEA). It tells us which pages are opened and how people arrive, nothing more. Google's own handling of that data is described in the Google privacy policy.

Consent works in two ways:

• EEA, UK and Switzerland: nothing is loaded and no cookie is set before you press Accept. The banner appears once, and Cookie preferences in the footer reopens it at any time. Choosing Reject also deletes the Google Analytics cookies this site can see.
• Elsewhere: the analytics tag loads by default. You can block or delete it in your browser's cookie settings whenever you like.

Consent Mode v2 is used, so advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalisation stay denied and the data is not used for advertising. The cookies involved are _ga and _ga_<container>, which distinguish one browser from another; this site sets no other cookie of its own. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store individual IP addresses.

Retention is set on the property itself: event data is kept for 2 months and user data for 14 months (checked on 1 November 2026), after which it is deleted automatically.

Hosting and server logs

The site is served by Cloudflare Pages and the submission form writes to Cloudflare D1, both operated by Cloudflare, Inc. Cloudflare keeps standard technical logs (IP address, requested URL, time) for security and abuse prevention under its own privacy policy. We keep no server of our own and no other copy of those logs.

Links to itch.io

Every game listing links to the developer's page on itch.io, and some pages embed a YouTube video. Once you follow those links or load an embed you are on someone else's site and their policies apply. We do not pass your details to them.

Your choices and requests

To ask what we hold about a suggestion you sent, or to have it deleted, send the request through the same Suggest a Game form with the itch.io link you used and a note saying what you want. That form is the site's only inbound channel; there is no email address or mailbox on this domain. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
